I guess you wonder why I am talking about this today. Let’s just say that I need a little reminder that Father’s Day 2011 is coming on June 21, 2011 and I wanted to make sure that I saw it when Father’s Day is about to arrive. I don’t have a much better place to do it because it sticks out like a sore thumb when I am looking at my blog. Hard to forget for me forget once I see it. Father’s Day doesn’t tend to get the press that mom does so it is a lot easier to forget about.

While I’m at it I may as well try and see if I can think of some fathers day gifts for dad. Just a little link there for Father’s Day Gifts For Dad that I want to check out a little later and see if I can get my dad a cheap Father’s Day gift.

Don’t know why I am talking about this but it brought some pretty weird opinions and absurd notions out. There is this game that you train dogs and have them fight each other called “Dog Wars”.

Apparently the Humane Society is trying to have it removed from the Android App store. Human Society President Wayne Pacelle said: “the game could be used as virtual training ground for would-be dogfighters.” DAR…

It’s like the time I played Mortal Kombat and I decided that my training in that fighting game was a stepping stone for my own fight club. We decided that after we beat other fighters with pool cues we would allow fighters to rip the opponent’s head off with their spine attached after the matches if they lose. If it wasn’t for that game I never would have thought of it. Oh wait…I never did that.

Then of course we are getting quotes from none other than Mike Vick saying how he thinks that dog fighting is bad now and that it is a “dead end street”. Mainly because he got caught and was sent to jail because he had a dog fighting ring. pool cues

The website with the app on it decided to troll the Humane society though by saying: “Perhaps one day we will make gerbil wars or beta fish wars for people who can’t understand fantasy role play games,” it says.

I said I would revisit this because I love looking for obscure oddities on Youtube. Once again I am going to use the random word generator to find the term to start with.

I’m not sure if this stuff shouldn’t be posted anywhere, but more in the category of “WTF!?”. Some are really horrible, but others are intoxicating.

First term today is Successor. I skipped immediately to page 14 of the search results to find something odd. As you can imagine this word shows quite a few news stories, and random entertainment videos, but it did have its charms. On the search I saw a video with 0 views so far and immediately knew by the title that this was the video I was looking for.

I can’t tell what is worse. That this might actually be a movie someone made, or that they are proud enough of it to make a trailer for it. Also, that the trailer had less than 150 views and zero comments.

I can’t even tell you how many times I have fallen for this. It just happened to me a few minutes ago actually. Youtube suggestions are quite easily fooled so I am surprised it isn’t more common, but it still happens. I guess people complain enough to get stuff pulled that I don’t see it as much as I would expect.

What happens is, someone watches some popular videos and sees something in them that may help them fool you with their own video. Then when it shows up in searches, or even suggestions tons of people will click on it, only to find out they got roll’d. Obviously, Youtube is full of this practice and we are tricked into watching tons of videos about stuff like an suv bike rack just because someone has a pic of some tits on the screen capture.

For me though, I pretty much know it is a scam most of the time, except this one instance that fools me every few months. It’s the same damn video too that shows up every time and I ALWAYS fall for it. It’s for something you really wouldn’t expect to get fooled on, but of course I always do.

It is “Magglio Ordonez ALCS walk off HR (Fox Broadcast)”. The genius of this is the (Fox Broadcast) part of it since there are no other videos that have this. At least not ones that stay there very long. I laughed even harder this time because not more than 2 minutes before viewing this I had seen someone say “does anyone know where I can get the Fox broadcast of this?” on another similar video. Hook, line, and sinker folks. Went to the Youtube home page and what is there as a suggestion? This:
