After watching the Detroit Tigers pretty much blow their chances of winning their division in Major League Baseball this week I decided that it was probably a good idea to look at pictures of sad cats. Why? No idea. I saw a pic of a sad cat and figured I would look at some funny sad cat pictures to display my disgust with the Tigers and symbolize how pathetic the :”tiger” was in effect calling them kittens rather than Tigers.
While not surprised, I was fortunate to have a lot to choose from. People like cats on the internet if you hadn’t noticed this before. I would suspect that some fill their entire laptop memory up with pics of cats. People are obsessed with cats, and it is rather disturbing really.
BUT…
That obsession leads to pics of cats that are amusing. Like good old Ceiling Cat. Enjoy sad cats…:(
You might not have been paying attention. Myself I have always been of the thought that the majority of people that discuss things on message boards, forums, and social networks are predominately atheists. At least the more outspoken people that is. Places like Digg clearly are overrun by atheists, but a place that you think would clearly be predominately atheists would be Youtube, and in fact I am finding this is not the case at all.
While you can argue that the percentage of atheists on Youtube is likely higher than that of the U.S. population I have been seeing recently that Youtube is clearly overrun by the religious.
What makes me say so? Comments and views on things that only Christians, or other religious folks would watch. At the very least videos that they would be most likely to complain about and argue on. Sure there are tons of atheism videos on Youtube, and you get the average religious person on there trying to argue false logic with loudmouth atheists that berate them with insults, but those aren’t the ones I mean. All you have to do is find Oprah.
Oprah is a hotbed for Christians and their ilk. Videos about Oprah that even remotely suggest anything religious have 10, 20. 50 times the views and comments of any atheist, or anti-religious video on Youtube. Search “Oprah Denies Christ” and you will see what I mean. Let me just add the video below that has over 4 MILLION views. Christians everywhere like rows and rows of tile flooring. Christians absolutely OWN atheists on Youtube in numbers. It’s really not even close and this is something I was shocked to see this week.
Sadly, these are the kinds of discussions Oprah and her followers get into. Listen to the woman in the audience that defies all logic to Oprah’s arguments and the crowd actually agreeing with her. Oprah is clearly a shrewd celeb though and gets out of the debate unscathed. She tries to inject critical thinking into these people and guess what? Complete dismissal of any argument in the discussion without even hearing it.
I’m sorry, but I don’t care if you are atheist, or you worship giant beetles, dismissing logic by saying that you are just trying to “intellectualize” it is completely and utterly wrong. Think. Please.
