LOL...I kind of liked leveling in XII. It was WAY better than FF XIII was that's for sure. XIII was the epitome of boredom in grinding I have to say.

You missed level grinding in most RPG games. This "fun pastime" gets annoying fast. REALLY fast. I only do it for overpowered characters, and really the best game for this is FFXII. Auto-leveling without even watching your screen (I was leveling up while at church!) is cheating, but hilarious in that I could kill off the enemies within two attacks afterwards, and this made the game less challenging, but caused a LOT of laughter on my end when I went back to the Dalmasca Estersand and attacked a 5 HP Wolf for around 9,000 damage. If that happened in FFX, the enemy would have shown "Overkill" at its demise. Simply hilarious to watch. And yes, even with max-leveled people, there were challenging locations: Great Crystal on the way to Ultima and Henne Mines on the way to Zodiark. Those paths actually caused me more annoyance and pain (I actually lost some hair trying to reach these bosses...) than the bosses themselves (Ultima was angering because of the different "extra status afflictions" through the battle, while Zodiark was annoying because of the fact that he puts up a Paling and a permanent elemental shift combo that the only way to hurt the guy is with non-elemental magical attacks, because he absorbed everything but one element, and each time you hit him, the element would change...). XII caused me serious annoyance in attempting to reach Ultima and Zodiark, and getting Tournesol is a goal that will never be achieved (and a goal that would make Yiazmat killable within 2 hours and one correct try instead of 16 total hours or so and many different, failing tries to fight the stupid thing. And don't get me started on Omega Mark XII. Hate.). And yes, final Tournesol and level grinding in "non-gambit" games are annoying and stupid chores that might have to be done for certain things.
