Those Who Think They Are Grammar Police, but Wrong
I’m sure you have run into someone who thinks they caught you in a grammatical error only to find that they are completely wrong. Maybe they gave you a long drawn out explanation of how to use the words “its and it’s”. These people think they are owning you, but they just show that they are very good at owning themselves. You might have said something to the regards of:
“Jim owns WookieLovers.com and all if its affiliates.”
Then some know-it-all pipes in and says that you should have used “it’s” because the way you used it in that sentence denotes possession. WRONG. YOU JUST GOT SELF-OWNED. There is no possession classification for the word “its” that requires an apostrophe. “It’s” means “It is”. It doesn’t mean that any possession is held.
Thank you guy who likes to own themselves on message boards. Owning yourself is great, but when you try to own someone else on the board by pointing out something that isn’t even wrong you make my day.

I love when this happens. I love when they’re completely condescending and then it turns out they’re the ones that are wrong. So great.
