I’m not really Laughing My Ass Off (LMAO!)

People say these terms on boards all the time by abbreviating them. “LOL!”, or “LMAO!”, “ROFL!”, and even in extreme circumstances where it all comes togehter “ROFLMAO!”. I find it hard to believe that anyone actually rolls around on the floor and laughs their ass off. I know I never have and I’ve smoked weed. I suppose with some serious mental issues it may happen, but it can’t be common. So really…if someone says “lol” which means “Laughing out loud”, do you really believe they are? Sure what you said might be funny, but come on. Unless you get a response of “ROFLMAO!” I doubt you can really even think what you posted is that high of comedy. After all “lol” is basically like a grin in the internet world. Yeah it is funny, but I’m not going to risk the people in my home thinking I’m going insane to actually laugh at loud for it.

Now I’ve noticed that this stuff is actually said in real life. In fact I have actually had to bite my toungue a few times from saying one of these abbreviated expressions out loud. I’ve actually heard people say “lawl” to express the term “lol” to me before, or “roffle” ro express “ROFL”. Some day you will hear your parents bust out with a good old “roffle” to one of your jokes and you will wonder if life is really this screwed up. It is.

One of the reasons I prefer to live alone. ;0)
My dogs have never once questioned my sanity when I do LOL (and I do, quite frequently.) They just look at me a little crosseyed.
